On Saturday, September 26, as the nor’easter winds raged outside of Roadrunner, Slayyyter blew the crowd away with a star-studded, siren-vocals set that included the entirety of Worst Girl in America, released in March of this year.
The fourteen-track sees Slayyyter embrace messiness in all of its after-party glitter, returning to her St. Louis, Missouri roots with Midwestern pride and rejecting the facade that Hollywood demands stars wear.
Born Catherine Grace Garner, Slayyyter got her start on SoundCloud in 2017 before officially debuting in August 2018 with the single “BFF,” featuring Ayesha Erotica.
This year, she’s become one of the fastest-rising superstars thanks to Worst Girl in America. Just two days before the album’s release on March 27, 2026, Slayyyter discovered the ultimate betrayal: her boyfriend brought another woman into her apartment, while she was away rehearsing for Coachella—which would turn out to be her biggest career moment when she performed at the Mojave Stage to capacity crowds.
Slayyyter is only continuing her momentum with the Worst Girl in the World tour. Kicking off in St. Louis, Missouri on July 26, the tour is spanning ten countries before ending on November 5 in London, England.
In Boston—okay, Allston—opening for Slayyyter was Pearly Drops, a Finnish producer duo based in Helsinki made up of Sandra Tervonen and Juuso Malin. Pearly Drops warmed up the crowd with their psychedelic, dreamy tunes. Tervonen’s ethereal, wispy vocals shone in songs such as “Call For Help” and “Bloom For Me” that picked up the audience’s energy, pulling the crowd tighter and closer to the stage as the clock ticked closer to Slayyyter’s set.
On stage, Slayyyter burst out of the custom-built white trailer, emerging through the front door in all of her midwestern glory as “*Prayer*” fizzled into the pounding opening for the fan-favorite “Dance….”
Looking every part the prettiest girl in America, she wore tall boots, a short denim skirt, and a leather jacket paired with a baseball hat. The crowd, consisting of camo, cowboy boots, and bunny ears—which were not taken off during Slayyyter’s set, may I mention, much to my digital camera’s chagrin—went wild, and it was impossible to focus on anything else but the life-changing concert I was about to experience.
“How you feelin tonight?” Slayyyter roared, earning eardrum-busting screams from every girl, gay, and they in the audience—yours truly included. “Boston, you better sing the words if you know them.” I came here to party and you know what you started…
During “Old Flings” Slayyyter took her jacket and hat off to sport a white tube top—the first of multiple costume changes—and let her beautiful, free-flowing hair steal the spotlight. Throughout her set, I was mesmerized by her blonde locks which, thanks to the abundance of fans on stage, were constantly blowing as though in a commercial for the best hair product you’ve ever seen. (No 3-in-1 shampoo here!)
The setlist consisted of all Worst Girl in America tracks, as well as “Broke Bitch Freestyle” released in April of this year. Following was “Crank,” an explosive performance that acted as a firecracker, setting everyone off in their own chaotic definition of cranking it. Slayyyter proceeded to play “crank 2” followed by “Yes Goddd,” an insane back-to-back lineup in which I’m confident my soul left my body.
Entwined in her set were her new songs, too: those on the highly anticipated follow-up ‘brother album’ to Worst Girl in America: Worst Man in America. Slayyyter performed “crank 2” and song of the summer “Brand New Chanels.” Her recent feature on Turnstile’s NEVER ENOUGH: VERSIONS’s “Birds,” released in August, became a fiery solo rendition.
She also, of course, played unreleased songs that are also expected to be on Worst Man In America: including “Nekromantik” (the inverse of “Cannibalism”) and “I Think He’s Got a Girl” (the inverse of “Unknown Lovers”).
Worst Man in America will mark Slayyyter’s fourth studio album. Described by Slayyyter as a “brother album” to Worst Girl in America, Worst Man in America will serve as an inverse record rather than being released as a traditional deluxe. The upcoming album is expected to have about eight or nine tracks.
Although the release date is yet to be officially announced, promotional posters for Worst Man in America have been spotted in New York City this past weekend—lucky for us, looks like we won’t have to wait too long for our new Slayyyter songs.
Slayyyter is also scheduled to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday, October 5th—so keep an eye out for her appearance and announcements that are sure to come.
Boston loves you, Slayyyter!
