With elements of synthesizer, happy “da da da’s” and even a tambourine, the former Berklee student didn’t write just any song about the trials and tribulations of love. He completely funked up the cliché concept’s highs, lows and all the moments in between, happily encompassing all of the things that make loving another person worth it with a bounce.

What better way, then, to jumpstart our frozen hearts with a high energy anthem for the disenchanted, messy, and procrastination-prone, than with “To Know You’re Screwed is to Know a Lot,” the latest single release from LA-based rock duo Mediocre.
28-year-old singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers embodies what it means to put every part of yourself into music. At one point during her Feb. 10 set at Roadrunner in Allston-Brighton, she doubled over between songs, overcome with emotion.

The tracks quickly become a secret that only fans indoctrinated into the world of the musician are familiar with and unintentionally become the foundation to the community of fans the artist has. But if these songs are so popular and beloved, why do artists hesitate to give the fans what they want?
On February 2nd in the SPC Theater, WECB Live hosted a rave featuring two talented Emerson DJs. Attendees were provided with a myriad of neon glow sticks and took to the balloon-filled floor to dance to EDM music and classic dance party hits.
