The tracks quickly become a secret that only fans indoctrinated into the world of the musician are familiar with and unintentionally become the foundation to the community of fans the artist has. But if these songs are so popular and beloved, why do artists hesitate to give the fans what they want?
On February 2nd in the SPC Theater, WECB Live hosted a rave featuring two talented Emerson DJs. Attendees were provided with a myriad of neon glow sticks and took to the balloon-filled floor to dance to EDM music and classic dance party hits.

Emerson student Jason Korn released his first EP, Letters From Afar, on January 27, 2023. Korn wanted to put out this EP right before Valentine’s Day, as its tracklist illustrates the progression of a relationship that goes completely wrong and the feelings of grief and anxiety that result from it.
Little Fuss, the Boston based band composed of vocalist Olivia Martinez (she/her) and guitarist Cody Von Lehmden, (he/him) dwell artistically on their daydreams and downfalls in their new album Girls at Parties, which was released on January 19, 2022.
The three horsemen of melancholia — Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus — make their musical return as boygenius with the perfect seasonal depression soundtrack. the record, released on January 18, 2023, is boygenius’s first set of singles since their self-titled EP in 2018.
Composed of iridescent lyricism and raw, gorgeous vocals, “grendel” is a magical and charming debut album of stunning sad girl folk, a promising first entry into JOBIE’s discography.
